30.4.13

A wee catch up

So that's my DietBet coming to a close, will be submitting my final weigh in tomorrow morning, the past 4 weeks have gone by so quickly! I remember sending in my first weigh in and being really positive about doing this!

Unfortunately it hasn't quite gone that way. I had a big drop of 4.6 in the first or second week and since then my body seems to have ground to a halt.. There have been little drops but not enough to get me down to the 202.9lbs I needed to win. I can't see me losing 4.5lbs from my last weigh in and tomorrow morning but I'll certainly give it a good go!

Going to get on with some cleaning/tidying/organising then I'm going to try a Blogilates video on YouTube, I've been warned that they are killer but I'm still gonna give it a go! Seeings as it's such a nice day today I'm going to head out for a walk after lunch to Callendar Park, hopefully with some company but if not I'll just whack my ipod on and go for it!

My bike broke yesterday, some problem with the back wheel so my friend is coming over after work to fix it and if it's works, I'll be cycling to the cinema tonight with Louis. We're going to some special viewing of a film because he has an Unlimited Card so that should be fun!

Been slacking a bit on the water drinking so need to get back on track with that. I've been feeling the effects of not having as much as I usually have, sluggish, skin has been a bit dull and a lot less energy. Not a fan of that so I'm back to filling up my green water bottle and have another bottle chilling in the fridge for later. Just going to alternate between the two bottles so there is always some made up and waiting in the fridge.

I'm feeling very inspired to get out and walk/jog/run/just move after reading a couple posts on Jemma's blog and Iona's blog so that's what I'm going to do! Just move. Also ladies, if you fancy a challenge, I'd love to go out with you one day, training or a race (just remember I'm awfa slow just now!)

I'll let you know tomorrow if all my activities have somehow helped me win my DietBet. I'm not holding out much hope but you never know I suppose!

Diet Bet Day 5+6

If you follow me on twitter you'll have noticed my internet conked out so I turned the laptop off while writing yesterdays round up, after switching the laptop off, the internet decided to work again! It was after midnight though so I decided to leave it and just do both today. Hope you don't mind! :)

Yesterday was a very early rise, up at 7am, not for any particular reason I just woke up feeling great and well rested! 10.30am and I played badminton for an hour with Mary-Jane, her friend Brian and his friend Craig. I am utterly rubbish but had a great time. Got a wee bit of a sore shoulder but nowhere near as bad as last time when I gave myself a rotator cuff injury!

After badminton, I went through to Stirling to get my nails redone, you can read that post here. After that Mary-Jane and I packed up her car with out bikes (it took quite a while!) we headed off to Beecraigs Country Park and went for a cycle round the water then to the park and back. I've been on a roll with exercise lately!

Foodwise for breakfast I had a salad with houmous, didn't want anything too heavy before playing badminton. Lunch was a peanut butter sandwich, a fromage frais and savoury snacks (they are nearly finished!). Mary-Jane made the dinner at hers yesterday, we had chicken nuggets, new potatoes and sweetcorn. I even tried beetroot and discovered that I actually love it!

Snacks were savoury snacks then when we were at Beecraigs we had oatcakes, unsalted pistachios, jelly beans and a packet of crisps. In the evening, we decided to have a wee takeaway. Naughty I know but I'd built up so many calories over the day (over 1400!) that I thought what the hey, it's a Friday night, I'm going to have some naughty food.

Waterwise I had 4.8 litres, all this exercise is thirsty work!!

Now today I didn't have any breakfast (my routine always seems to go out the window at the weekend, I really need to fix that! For lunch I had a McDonald's salad which got me a fair few funny looks, especially the people sitting beside us.. They looked physically uncomfortable, which kind of made me giggle. Dinner was vegetable soup then a big bowl of veg with gravy.

Didn't have any snacks today and only drank 3 litres of water today. I'm saying that like it's a bad thing, it's still 3 litres!

Louis and I went for a walk up town so then back so that was a good chunk of calories burned, then this evening, Mary-Jane and I attacked the 30DS (while Louis was on the elliptical listening to music and reading, how nice for him!).

So yeah I really need to fix my routine at the weekend, it rather annoys me so next weekend, I will have breakfast and I will drink enough water!

I think tomorrow I'll just be doing 30DS and tidying up, no other form of exercise. I've definitely pushed myself this past week and I'm glad I did but I need to take a wee break so I don't end up doing my body harm rather than good!

Looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in and I'm going to take my measurements again as well. Bring it!

Diet Bet Day 4

On my phone today so no pictures of my meals :(

Today was bloody fantastic. I didn't do any tidying but I burned over 1000 calories by doing 30 Day Shred, a 3.8 mile walk and 27 minutes of dancing. I am sleeping tonight!

I feel amazing. I'm so tired and achey but I also feel ridiculously positive and just plain amazing. Endorphines ahoy!

Breakfast was 2 oatcakes with crunchy peanut butter and a fromage frais. Lunch was a bowl of homemade soup, chicken nuggets and chips with some ketchup. Dinner was another bowl of soup then some wholegrain pasta with bolognese sauce, broccoli and peas.

Snacks were as usual savoury snacks, 4 Viennese whirls and a custard smoothie.

I drank 4.8 litres of water today. Mental!

I actually feel tremendous today! People have been cheering me on, telling me I'm found great, telling me they read my blog and enjoy it, that I motivate people. Posi mood is in complete and utter beast mode!

Diet Bet Day 3

Today has been fabby! I did have a bit of a lazy morning but that's ok :) Some more tidying, which I'm actually loving, the tidier and more organised this place gets, the better I feel. Definitely helping me mentally too, less to stew on. I'm not waiting for something to go wrong, I'm taking each day as a fresh start and another day to push myself, it's working!

Onto my eats for the day...

Breakfast ~ 50/50 toast with peanut butter, frubes pouch and an apple.

Lunch ~ The other portion of yesterday's curry. I had a wee giggle to myself about having a 'microwave meal'.

Dinner ~ I made a massive pot of soup but forgot to take a picture (I'll post about it tomorrow though) but I had a bowl of that and a jacket potato with Hello Kitty pasta.

After workout snack ~ I was ruddy well ravenous! Portion of Scottish whiting with lemon and coriander houmous, savoury snacks (only one bag pictured here but I actually went back and got another!) and a cheeky wee Viennese whirl.

Other snacks throughout the day were more savoury snacks, strawberry princess milk and 3 parma violets.

I need to start bulking out my meals a bit but I have no idea how to :/

Overall I'd say a good day foodwise, yes?

4.2 litres of water today I could have actually had more but hey ho. I'm going to have such fabulous radiant skin in no time if I keep this up!

Day 2 of 30DS, legs weren't as bad as yesterday but arms were shaking a bit more. My face got redder much quicker, I swear my body knew what I was about to inflict upon it! I'm getting better at holding my form already which I was quite surprised about! Still doing wall push ups as I can only manage 3 normal ones before my arms give out :/ The way I see it, it's better doing 20-30 odd against the wall than 3 normal ones.

Diet Bet Day 2

2 posts in one night , what's going on?!

Today was another good day, had breakfast like I said I would (and lunch and dinner of course!) We have pictures today of my meals because I remembered!

Breakfast ~ Cripsbreads with lemon and coriander houmous and cathedral city cheese slices, a frubes shot pouch.

Lunch ~ Scottish whiting with a salad made up of shredded iceberg lettuce,round lettuce and cucmber with two teaspoons of lemon and coriander houmous (I just realised as I was typing this that I had houmous twice!)

Dinner ~ Chicken curry with broccoli and white rice (got loads of it to use up before I can buy brown or wholegrain) and a wee harvester roll.

Snacks were a portion of savoury snacks and 2 squares of chocolate and I'm just about to have something else before bed.

Exercise wise I walked for 30 minutes, to my job induction type thing and back (still waiting on a phone call to do a trial shift) and about ten minutes ago, I completed Day 1 of 30DS. I have never managed to complete it before and I've taken breaks, flaked out on certain exercises, well tonight, I bloody well did it (With the exception of doing my push ups against the wall of course) But still, start to finish, I did it. Day 1, BIG FAT CHECK.

I've drank 3.4 litres of water today but I'll be filling my bottle up once more and guzzling it all down so that will be 4 litres! I'm quite amazed at myself.

Not done as much cleaning as yesterday but what with job business I thought it best. Plus I don't want to mega clean like yesterday every day or I'll get bored and not finish it or keep it up.

All in all, a super positive day today! I am enjoying this.

DietBet Day 1

My weigh in was accepted yesterday and verified and today was the first day! It's gone really rather well. Only downside is I didn't have any breakfast! That'll change tomorrow.
Been up and down like a yoyo spring cleaning. Livingroom and kitchen are looking great! The rest of the week will be upstairs, not looking forward to that.
Had a reduced fat smoked sausage with a dinner plate full of salad for lunch and dinner was a jacket potato with tuna mayo and half a plate of mixed cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower with a teaspoon of light soy sauce. Both tasty however if I'd had breakfast, I wouldn't have had the full smoked sausage.
Thinking about sitting down tomorrow and planning out some meals. Slowly starting to organise everything!
Waterwise I drank 3.6 litres. I love water so have no problems trying to drink it, just need to remember as sometimes it slips my mind!
Didn't do any exercise like Just Dance, elliptical etc but did a couple hours cleaning. It's not the same but better than nothing I suppose. Still moving about!
Definitely a positive first day!
